Day 1 has gone really fast, and we were all feeling quite nervous in anticipation and the nerves soon settled as we relaxed into the work we had to do in the day. Â I had met up with some of the people on the same type rating course as me the previous day, and the rest I met today, in class. Â There was plenty of paperwork to fill in involving security passes, training files and uniform order. Â We all met with the tailor today to get the right fit for out uniform and get them ordered, with 20 minutes allocated to each of us for that. Â By noon all the paperwork was done and we were given an Introduction to Ryanair presentation.
After lunch we were given more information on our training, and guidance on study. We were given out a booklet on SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), FCOM Volume 1 & 2 (Flight Crew Operating Manual), along with the QRH (Quick Reference Handbook) for the 737-800. Â We already had these in electronic format, and suffice it to say they look far more intimidating in hard copy! Â There is no doubt that this will be a challenging and intense type rating and that Ryanair do have very high standards in training.
I am looking forward to it even more now, this is what I really have been working towards.
